Playa El Yaque, en la Isla de Margarita, es reconocida a nivel mundial gracias a sus fantásticas propiedades climáticas, que la hacen perfecta para practicar deportes extremos como el windsurf y el kitesurf -de hecho son varios los campeones internacionales que allí se han formado y que hoy en día son reconocidos a nivel mundial-. ¿Cómo llegar? / How to get there?
Playa El Yaque se encuentra ubicada a unos 10 minutos del Aeropuerto Internacional Santiago Mariño, que sirve a la Isla de Margarita. Desde allí la mejor opción es tomar un taxi o alquilar un carro (siempre que tengan pensado moverse a otros lugares durante su estadía). La mayoría de hoteles y posadas de la zona se encuentran a solo unos pasos de la playa, por lo que solo necesitarás unos minutos para moverte caminando.
Playa El Yaque is located about 10 minutes away from Santiago Mariño International Airport, which serves Margarita Island. From there the best option is to take a taxi or rent a car (if you plan to move to other places during your stay). Most hotels and inns in the area are just a few steps from the beach, so you only need a few minutes walk to move around.

¿Qué hacer? / What to do?
Una de las principales opciones en El Yaque es practicar Windsurf y Kitesurf. Leo Estredo, profesor y campeón internacional en estos deportes, puede ayudarte con esto. En su escuela recibe anualmente a cientos de turistas que quieren disfrutar de estas actividades. El Windsurf es el más accesible y más rápido para aprender mientras el Kitesurf requiere de clases más especializadas para lograrlo. Así que con poco o mucho tiempo o dinero, alguno de los dos seguro se adecuará a lo que quieres. Por otro lado, si lo deseas, puedes visitar la Isla de Coche -desde el Yaque salen peñeros todos los días que te llevan a primera hora de la mañana y te buscan en la tarde-. Otra opción es hacer alguna de las rutas en bicicleta que organizan algunos operadores turísticos con previo aviso para recorrer las zonas cercanas a Playa El Yaque. Por último, en temporada alta y fines de semana este lugar se destaca por tener grandes fiestas en los bares a orilla de la playa.

On the other hand, if you wish, you can visit Isla de Coche – from El Yaque some boats sail every day and can take you first thing in the morning and get back for you in the afternoon. Another option is to do some of the cycling routes organized by some tour operators with advance notice to cicly around the areas near Playa El Yaque. Finally, in high season and weekends this place stands out for having great parties in the bars along the beach.
¿Cuándo ir? / When to go?
Si la tranquilidad es lo tuyo, lo mejor es visitarla en temporada baja y días de semana. Si por el contrario quieren encontrarse con un lugar lleno de vida, fiestas y gente deben ir los fines de semana y los días de vacaciones donde se organizan diversas actividades.
If you look for tranquility, it is best to visit it in low season and weekdays. If on the contrary, you want to find a place full of life, parties and people you must go on weekends and holidays where they organize various activities during the day and night.
¿Qué comer? / What to eat?
La comida es costosa en El Yaque. Si no quieres gastar mucho puedes ir a un hotel con todo incluido o quedarte en aparta hoteles como los que ofrece El Yaque Club, donde tendrás tu propia cocina para algunas comidas. Pero nunca está de más que coman una que otra empanada en alguno de los kioscos de la playa. Si se animan pueden ir al Manglillo, a pocos minutos de El Yaque, y comer pescado frito en “El Rancho de Aura” –los precios son muy bajos pero eso sí, allí no hay nada de lujos-.
The food is expensive in El Yaque. If you do not want to spend a lot you can go to an all-inclusive hotel or stay in aparthotels like those offered by El Yaque Club, where you will have your own kitchen for some meals. But it never hurts to eat one or another «empanada» in one of the kiosks of the beach. If you feel like you can go to El Manglillo, a few minutes away from El Yaque, and eat fried fish in «El Rancho de Aura» -the prices are very low but, yes, but you have to know that is a very simple place, nothing luxurious there.
